Creative Malden seeks artists to submit 2D Works of Art on the Theme of “Renewal”

Exhibition to be held May 16 – June 9 at 350 MAIN, 350 Main Street Malden, MA.
Reception: Friday, June 9, 6-8pm

The word “renewal” conjures up concepts of hope, growth, or enrichment and can be expressed in so many ways. One might consider the revitalization that spring brings, the joy of a new baby in a family, the challenge of spiritual growth, or the feeling of rejuvenation after a long hiatus. Renewal comes after something old or worn out has been replaced or repurposed, or it can refer to a continuation after an interruption. The earth can undergo a renewal with our care for the environment. What are the colors of renewal? How does renewal make you feel? Please show us your unique vision?

REQUIREMENTS/DETAILS:

  • Artwork must be for sale Minimum $50, max price $300, with a 30% commission to Creative Malden, 70% to the artist.
  • Artists must be 18 years or older and from Malden and/or surrounding cities and towns.
  • Only 2D work will be accepted: painting, drawing, mixed media, art prints (wood cut, lithograph, etc.), digital prints, photographs, fiber arts. Mosaic or light-weight ceramic art that hangs flush with the wall will be considered.
  • The artwork must be wired on the back and ready to hang on the wire hanging system, which utilizes hooks. No sawtooth hangers.
  • Artwork needs to be labeled on the back with artist name and title.
  • Art show and sale will take place May 16 – June 9
  • Participating artists will pick up any unsold artwork on June 9 or June 10.

DETAILS:

Artists may submit up to 3 original artworks.
There is no fee to participate. The Gallery@57 will manage the sale of your work.

THE PROCESS:

  • Application deadline: Sunday, April 16th
  • Artists will be notified of acceptance by May 1st.
  • Artists will drop off artwork on Mon May 15, at 350 Main St. Malden, 4-6pm
  • Art show and sale will take place May 16 – June 9
  • Participating artists will pick up any unsold artwork on June 9 or June 10.
