More about the Intertwined box:
As someone originally from India and now part of Malden’s diverse community, I hope to contribute a design that reflects my cultural roots. My switchbox draws inspiration from kolam, the practice of creating intricate geometric patterns at home thresholds to welcome guests and nourish nature, symbolizing discipline and coexistence. I also incorporate elements of Warli art, a tribal form that uses rhythmic compositions to depict community life. By bringing these indigenous traditions to Malden’s public landscape, I aim to celebrate heritage through the simple, everyday beauty of these art forms.
